Beach Wedding Venue in Connecticut
Penfield Pavilion Fairfield, Connecticut
Penfield Pavilion is a unique beach wedding venue in Connecticut. I love it because it doesn’t have that buttoned-up feeling that a lot of coastal wedding venues tend to have. It’s located in Fairfield, Connecticut, and it’s a few steps away from the water.
It’s definitely a blank-slate type of venue, so you could take it in a lot of different directions. They provide tables and chairs if you want them, but the rest is up to you. So it’s awesome for couples who are into DIY, or who have a wedding planner who can transform the space.
I love the wood beams across the ceiling, and the doors that lead out onto the waterfront deck. I could imagine having a very chilled-out wedding that feels mostly like a big summer party.
Can you have a ceremony on the beach?
Yes, but it’s not private. You can also use the open deck for your ceremony.
Does it have a sound system?
Can you add your own decor/lighting?
Yes, you can pretty much do whatever you want as long as it doesn’t permanently alter the building.
Is there in-house catering?
Nope, but they have lots of good recommendations! There is a kitchen area for food prep.
How many guests can the space accommodate?
Up to 180 for a seated wedding with dancing
How old is the building?
The pavilion has been there for 100 years in some form, but it was just renovated in 2017.
