Katherine & Michael’s Bronx Wedding / Wedding Photography New York
Katherine and Michael’s Bronx wedding was creative, personal and intimate. I had been in touch with Katherine throughout the year leading up to the wedding, and she put so much work into making sure that their family and friends would enjoy themselves. Her mother had gotten married at the same church, and Van Cordlandt Park was close to home. The reception was a fusion of their Puerto Rican, Cuban, and American cultures; amazing food by their favorite Cuban restaurant, tres leches cake that I managed to get a quick taste of, and latin music playing all night. It wasn’t surprising that their wedding had beautiful touches like peacock feather centerpieces and a ring designed by Michael, as Michael is a comic book artist and Katherine works in the theater world. I love being a New York wedding photographer because weddings in the city have this energy about them, but they also feel intimate. In a city that can feel so huge at times, a smaller gathering of just the people you know and love can feel that much more special.
